Elemental gourds exhibit shapes that call to mind a bygone era in many cultures but the profile is unmistakable still. The Umut 3 pendant evokes the feel of these sometimes straight, sometimes undulant large fruits, a number of which are edible. Made of black or natural rattan, the Umut 3 filters its emitted light to cast playful patterns on surrounding surfaces. Ay Illuminate's design team, Ay Lin Heinen and Nelson Sepulveda, work with artisans to dream up these luminous creations. The fixtures are handmade in the truest sense of the word so longer lead-times may apply and slight variations in the profiles of each pendant may exist.
